Meet Debby Forshey-Choma...

Debby Forshey ChomaI recently made the move south to the Raleigh, North Carolina area with my husband, Steve. This move has placed us closer to our new grandbaby, Addilyn (Little Sunshine), to enjoy everything that comes with being Grandparents. Our daughter, Melissa and her husband, Kevin with Little Sunshine live nearby. We were also blessed recently to now have our daughter, Amanda living in the area.

I am a nationally known published artist and the owner of Debby's Touch, since 1988, have authored 12 books, over 250 pattern packets and write articles for national magazines. I have enjoyed trying many different crafts my whole life, thanks to my Mom inspiring us with trips to LeeWards Creative Crafts (now Michaels) and Minnesota Fabrics, and my Grandmom teaching me to crochet at the age of 5. Now I enjoy designing lighthouse scenes, seascapes and landscapes in different seasons in acrylics; using mixed media backgrounds to create interest in my designs. I find decorative painting very rewarding, I love the platform of teaching, a way to share my love for painting with others.

In coordination with Royal-Langnickel Brushes, I have designed my Texture Brush; which is great for achieving texturing effects for foliage, snow, clouds, etc. The Texture brush is made of hog bristles; which aids in achieving that airy effect you see in my paintings.

I travel teach throughout the United States at conventions and chapter seminars. I am a Royal Ambassador for Royal & Langnickel Brushes, a DecoArt Artist, both of which help support chapter seminars. I am also a Viking Woodcrafts Brand Ambassador.

For everything there is a season... or to quote Stanley Horowitz...
"Winter is an etching, Spring a watercolor, Summer an oil painting and Autumn a mosaic of them all."
